Pittsburgh Zoo officials say a recent string of mammal deaths are still within a “normal range.”
During a briefing Monday, the zoo’s president said that despite the deaths of three popular animals in the last month, that’s not unexpected for a zoo of its size.
An informal audit showed that the zoo experiences anywhere from 15 to 25 deaths each year.
The zoo closed February 17th to mourn the losses of the animals.
