The Slippery Rock Area School District has hired a former student as a new school administrator.
According to Slippery Rock Superintendent Dr. Alfonso Angelucci, after a four month hiring process, Chicora resident Crystal Johnston will be the new principal of Slippery Rock Area Elementary School.
Johnston graduated from Slippery Rock in 1997 and is currently employed by the Clarion Area School District as special education director.
Current principal Kristen Czubiak is retiring at the conclusion of the current school year so Johnston will begin her employment with Slippery Rock July 1st.
