Henry Thomas Tenerowicz, of Butler, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife Patti of 60years on March 5, 2024.
Henry was born in Ford City at the family home on September 6,1937 as the parade passed by on Labor Day, to parents Walter and Clara Jamro Tenerowicz who came to USA through Ellis Island from Poland. Henry was the last of his six siblings…Walter, Carl, Ann, Elizabeth, and Eleanor. He was very proud of his Polish Heritage and spent a month in Poland seeking relatives. Henry spoke fluent Polish and belonged to the Polish Falcons of Ford City.
He graduated from Ford City High School and served in the US Air Force as a Military Police, Air Force Basketball Team, and was an Armco retiree of 35 years.
Henry was an active outdoor man, hunter, and fisherman traveling the US and Canada. He enjoyed horseback elk hunting in Wyoming and trout fishing. He loved his chocolate lab Country and his cottage in rural Cook Forest. He was an avid Steeler Season ticket holder, attending two Steeler Super Bowls.
He was a member of St Faustina Parish, St Christopher Church in Prospect from its onset and volunteered at the annual summer festivals. He served as a former usher, Men’s Club, Finance and Pastoral Councils. Devout catholic all of us life, beginning as a little altar boy.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Kotvas Tenerowicz who were married with all the Polish and Slovak marriage traditions of Mass and three days at the Kotvas Family Farm in West Leechburg with 836 guests, no rsvps!
He is also survived by the Kovac Kids: Yvonne, Debbie, Diane, and Keith; the Kotvas Farm families: Len, John, Mert, and Steven; eight godchildren; his 1956 Ford City classmates, hunting and fishing buddies, Armco friends and great neighbors. Henry was loved!
Henry was a gentle, kind, loving, friendly, humorous man. Much loved by many and will be greatly missed, especially by family young and old.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 1,2024 from 3pm to 7pm at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 12,2024, 10am at St Faustina Parish, St Christopher Church in Prospect, 229 N Franklin Street, please meet at church, with Rev Sean Francis, Sr Parochial Vicar, officiating.
Interment will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ford City.
