Gertrude A. “Trudy” Stevenson, 82, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 9, 2024.
October 9, 1941 in Wildwood, PA, she was a daughter of the late Vance A. and Mary Gertrude Knittell.
She was a homemaker. She was an avid baker who enjoyed decorating cakes and making candy. She sold her bake goods known as “Grandma Trudy’s Goodies” at flea markets. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
She was a member of All Saint’s Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children: Theresa (Jeff) Sequete, Dorothy Sarver, John (Nicole) Stevenson, Vance Stevenson and Pam Wood, all of Butler.
17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
2 sisters, Mary Lynn (Jim) Bartholomew of Conneautville, PA and Teddy Eichenlaub of Butler.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Stevenson, Jr. who passed away May 4, 2004. They were married June 8. 1963. Along with 8 brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Monday. A Bessing Service will be held at 12:30 pm. Tuesday from the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Butler.
