Local conservation projects have the opportunity to receive state grant money for protecting biodiversity.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will begin accepting applications for grants through their Wild Resource Conservation Program tomorrow (Monday).
This program benefits non-game animals, native plants, and habitat in the areas of species surveys, conservation, and management. Grant priorities this year include conservation of mammals, birds, fish, insect pollinators, and fungi.
The deadline to submit an application through the DCNR online grant application system is July 1st.
