Starting pitcher Jared Jones went 6 innings for the Pirates allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 4. Second baseman Nick Gonzales plated both runs for the Bucs in the first inning on a 2-RBI single.

The Pirates conducted a trade yesterday with the San Francisco Giants, acquiring former first round pitcher Daulton Jeffries for minor league prospect OF Rodolfo Nolasco.
Jeffries has dealt with various injuries since being drafted, including two Tommy John surgeries. He allowed 9 earned runs in 4.1 innings across 2 games for the Giants before being designated for assignment.
