Two weeks after running out of gas while leading a race on the final lap, Ryan Blaney became the first winner of a NASCAR Cup Series race at the Iowa Speedway in Newton. Blaney took the checkered flag ahead of William Byron and Chase Elliott in the Iowa Corn 350 and led a career-high 201 laps. It was his first win of the season.
The track in Iowa was designed by Nascar legend Rusty Wallace.
