The City of Butler is moving forward with making repairs to a big hole in the middle of a local street described as “concerning”.
Thursday night, Council approved a proposal from Bauer Excavating to do the work on a Heim Avenue sinkhole for a total of nearly $10,000. This money will come from the proceeds of the liquid fuels tax.
This was the only bid received for this project but the city has been happy with work completed by this contractor in the past. The repairs include 80 feet of damaged storm drain at a depth of seven feet.
It is not yet known exactly when this project will get underway or how long construction is expected to last but the hole is currently about four feet deep and the area is covered and blocked off.
