It’s a great weekend to enjoy some outdoor activities at Moraine State Park.
First, a presentation about venomous snakes is planned for Saturday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Pavilion 7 McDanel’s Launch Area on the North Shore. Visitors will learn all about the snakes native to our area then take a closer look at live snakes on hand.
Then, a Salamander Safari is scheduled for Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Davis Hollow Marina Office on the North Shore. The Park Naturalist will lead a 15 minute walk to the Davis Hollow Creek. Participants should wear sturdy walking shoes and bring water shoes for the stream as well as bug spray.
