Two people were taken to the hospital after a serious crash on I-79 Monday evening.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. in the northbound lane near mile marker 97—which is about a mile north of the Portersville exit.
When crews got on scene, they found one vehicle rolled over in the median. Dispatchers say one person was ejected from the vehicle during the accident.
A medical helicopter was called and took one man to a Pittsburgh trauma center for chest injuries. A second person was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital.
A portion of I-79 had to close in order to allow EMS to take the man to the landing zone for helicopter.
Crews cleared the scene by 9 p.m.
