Dorothy Clara “Dot” Jaworski, age 85, of Sarver, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 28, 1939, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Genevieve.
Dot was a devoted wife and mother. For two years before her marriage she worked in the Payroll Department at Wiggins Company, Pittsburgh.
She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Cabot, and a devout Christian.
She was a former member of the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and a former den mother for her sons’ Boy Scouts troop. Dot volunteered with the Freeport High School Football Boosters when her sons Jeff and John played, and she prepared and served food for the Freeport football team’s training kitchen. She supported the Freeport area baseball little league while her sons played. Dot was a passionate sports fan, and anyone that sat around her knew when one of her boys was on the field. Dot was also a parental sponsor for the Buffalo Gals for daughters Janet, Laura and Renee.
Dot enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking for family and friends, and solving word puzzles. She was also a crime mystery aficionado.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffery John Jaworski and his wife, Sarah, of Michigan, and John Walter Jaworski and his wife, Rhonda, of Sarver; three daughters, Janet Novosel and her husband, Jeff, of Cranberry Township; Laura Wach and her husband, Greg, of York, Pa., and Renee Beck and her husband, Ronald, of Sarver; one sister, Sandra Faverio and her husband, Louis, of Florida; ten grandchildren, Monica Jaworski, Jacob Jaworski, Roman Jaworski, Joram Jaworski, Gemma Jaworski, Michael Novosel, Sarah Silverstein, Nicole McIntosh, Alex McIntosh, and Monika Muto; six great-grandchildren, Makiah Jaworski, Skyla Jaworski, Maxson Novosel, Brooks Novosel, Charlotte Silverstein, and Ayda Silverstein; and one nephew, Michael Baer and his wife, Sandy, of Penn Hills, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Henry Jaworski, Jr., who passed away Oct. 11, 2004; one brother, Francis Wypych; two sisters, Genevieve Baer and Margaret Cangelier; two brothers-in-law, Charles Baer and John Cangelier; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Wypych; and one niece, Michelle Baer LaCivita.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday, July 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Rd., Cabot, with Rev. Matt McClain officiating.
