Surrounded by family, Eugene Leslie Heath, affectionately known as Eug, age 64, of Daytona Beach, Florida, was called to his eternal rest on July 14, 2024.
Born on September 3, 1959, in Butler, PA, he was the cherished son of Eugene Heath Sr. and the late Donna Isabella, the beloved brother to Linda (Ken) Rowsey, Nancy (Lane) Williams, Mary Gordon, Brenda (Mike) Wiggins, and Lisa (Jeff) Becker.
A proud graduate of Seabreeze Jr & Sr High Schools, Class of 1977, Eugene excelled in both academics and athletics, particularly on the baseball diamond. He furthered his education at Catawba College, where he obtained a BA in Theater Arts.
A patriot at heart, Eugene served with distinction in the United States Navy during pivotal moments in history, including the Gulf War, the War in Iraq, and the War in Afghanistan. Continuing his dedication to service, he remained active in the Navy Reserves until his honorable retirement.
Eugene’s life was marked by his passion for music, unwavering support for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins, and his deep love for animals, especially his Service Dog, Sweetie, from Prison Pups & Pals.
He leaves behind his loving partner, Kelly Gilmartin, his devoted father, siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever treasure his memory. Predeceased by his mother and both sets of grandparents, Joseph & Mary Isabella and William & May Heath, Eugene’s legacy of love, loyalty, and courage will continue to inspire all who knew him.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Baldwin Brothers, located at 620 Dunlawton Ave Port Orange, FL 32127. On Monday, July 29, 2024, between 4-6 PM to celebrate Eugene’s life.
