Cranberry Township has been awarded state funding to improve local traffic conditions.
The township will receive three grants totaling over $400,000 through the PennDOT Green Light Go program to modernize equipment.
The money will be used for modernization of traffic signal equipment at Route 19 and Cranberry Fire Station Number Two as well as upgrading signal video detection at Route 19, Route 228, and Rochester Road. Still more funding will go towards updating or replacing two traffic signal cabinets on Route 228.
A total of 73 municipalities across the state received a combined over $30 million as part of this program. The Green Light Go Project is funded through Act 89 and will be managed by PennDOT.
