Swimmer Katie Ledecky won her eighth career gold medal with a dominating win in the 1,500-meter Freestyle race. It was her 12th career medal, matching Jenny Thompson for the most ever by a female swimmer. The grueling event featured 30 laps in a 50-meter pool. Ledecky shattered her own Olympic record.
