The amount of revenue the state brought in during July continued a streak of outpacing expectations.
The Department of Revenue announced that collections totaled $3 billion last month.
Sales tax receipts continue to be the main driver of revenue, bringing in $1.3 billion in July. Personal income tax revenue was $1.2 billion and corporation tax revenue was just over $216 million. The Motor License Fund which includes gas taxes collected nearly $258 million in July.
The state finished last fiscal year with a surplus of 2% more than anticipated.
