Gary R. Miller, Sr., 73, of Herman, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024, in the comfort of his home.
Born April 27, 1951, in Natrona Heights, he was a son of Miles R. Miller and the late Gertrude J. (Rankin) Miller.
He was a self-employed automotive mechanic.
Gary formerly served on the Summit Township Planning Commission and he belonged to the Summit Township Sportsman’s Club.
He enjoyed hunting, coin collecting, gardening, building things, and tinkering.
Most of all, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rita (Stabile) Miller, whom he married March 10, 1973; his father, Miles R. Miller, of Freeport; two sons, Gary Miller, Jr. and his wife, Janeen, of Herman, and Justin Miller and his wife, Michele, of Ohio; two brothers, Jan Miller and his wife, Jan, of Sarver, and Dr. Tim Miller, of Cranberry Township; one sister, Lori J. Miller, of Freeport; three grandchildren, Chase R, Miller and his wife, Aryssa, Lydia Miller, and Blaze Miller; and one great-grandchild, Zalie Rae Miller.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude J. (Rankin) Miller.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 2 p.m.–4 p.m. and 6 p.m.–8 p.m.
Services will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 10:30 a.m.at the funeral home, with Virginia DiTullio, Lay Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Butler County Sportsmen for Youth, Inc., 137 Lyn-Dale Dr., Butler, PA 16001
