Raymond Calvin “Cal” Sarver, age 77, of Butler lost his courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and cancer on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 5:05 a.m. at the Butler Memorial Hospital. Raymond was born August 7, 1947, in Butler. He was the son of the late William Murphy and Dolly (McKissick) Sarver. Raymond worked for Pullman Standard until its closing and for T. W. Phillips for 30 years. He was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather, and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family. In his younger years he spent many hours on the golf course and in retirement he enjoyed spending his days on the tractor maintaining his lawn. Raymond was a member of the Butler Community Alliance Church. Raymond is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Sarvey Sarver, whom he married November, 11, 1971, one daughter, Kelly (Michael) Savannah, two grandchildren, Nico and Gianna Savannah, his siblings, John Sarver, Ed (Connie) Sarver, Ralph (Diane) Sarver, all of Butler, Ron (Jill) Sarver of Arizona., and Dolly (Mickey) Rubin of New Castle; and his numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 2-4 PM at the SPENCER D. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Parkinson’s Exercise program at the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St. Butler, PA 16001. His time in the program meant so much to him both physically and mentally. Our hope is to continue to promote hope and courage for all those battling Parkinson’s Disease.
