Janet Louise Boardman, 81, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, while under the care of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 6, 1943, in Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Robert and the late Mabel (Penn) Shaw.
Janet worked as an insurance agent until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing, music, working puzzles, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald C. “Don” Boardman, whom she married on August 31, 1963; her son, Donald Craig Boardman of West Sunbury; her daughter, Lisa Boardman Burnette of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren Audrey Burnette and Allison and Ava Boardman, and her sisters, Jean (Blaine) Beers of Reno, PA and Dorothy Cowles of Franklin, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Walter “Bo” Shaw.
Anyone wishing to pay respects to her family are invited to join them on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Rd. Butler, PA 16001.
