Two women have been charged in connection with thefts throughout Western Pennsylvania.
On Saturday police were informed of two women committing thefts at the Target in Cranberry Township through video surveillance. Police identified the women as 71-year-old Kathleen MacDonald of Wellsboro and 42-year-old Kristin MacDonald of New Jersey.
Police say that the women would bring items to the customer service counter to return. While one of the women returned items, the other would steal additional items from Target—and then return the stolen items at another store.
Police alleged that the MacDonald’s are connected to multiple thefts in Beaver, Butler, and Allegheny counties.
They been charged with conspiracy retail theft, retail theft, conspiracy receiving stolen property, and receiving stolen property.
Both women have been placed in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail. They both have preliminary hearings set for Nov. 8.
