An important member of the Broad Street Elementary School community has received statewide recognition for making the school a more welcoming place while engaged in his job of protection.
Officer James Green was the focus of a special assembly at Broad Street Thursday afternoon to present The RISE (Recognizing Inspiring School Employees) Award. This award celebrates the dedication and excellence of non-teaching school employees who provide exceptional service to students.
PA Department of Education Secretary Dr. Khalid Mumin presented the award at a ceremony also attended by Green’s family, Broad Street Principal Vanessa Boyd, Butler Superintendent Dr. Brian White, three school board members, County Commissioner Leslie Osche, State Representative Marci Mustello, State Senator Scott Hutchinson, Broad Street teachers, staff, and students.
Green is one of two school employees in the state to win this award this year.
