President-elect Donald Trump says he will block the sale of U.S. Steel.
Trump said in a statement that he is “totally against the once great and powerful U.S. Steel being bought by a foreign company.”
Nippon Steel of Japan has made the offer to buy U.S. Steel.
Trump added that through tax incentives and tariffs, U.S. Steel would become “strong and great again.”
