Patricia “Patty” L. Caldwell, born on March 22, 1937, in Butler, PA, to the late Betty and George Bayer Jr., passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, in the warm presence of her family.
Patty will be forever cherished by her children, William (Susan) Caldwell, Albert (Ashley) Caldwell Jr., and Darlene Caldwell. She was adored by her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Her unconditional love for her family is something that could be felt at all times.
For 60 years, her heart belonged to the love of her life, Albert “Lester” Caldwell. Patty and Albert’s marriage was the cornerstone of their family, a testament to enduring love and commitment. Patty enjoyed gathering to celebrate the love and foundation of her family. Patty always made sure to have at least one cake, but usually more than one, for her family’s birthdays and anniversaries, all of which were celebrated in her home. These gatherings were filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of Patty’s love.
A devoted Catholic, Patty’s faith in Jesus Christ provided her with great comfort and strength. It was her relationship with the Lord that made her the mother, wife, and friend we all aspire to be. Patty dedicated her life to caring for her family with strong shoulders and a soft heart. She was a supportive mother and grandmother, always putting her family’s needs before her own. Her home was a sanctuary of love and warmth, where her children and grandchildren felt safe and cherished. Patty’s nurturing spirit and unwavering support were the foundation of her family’s strength and unity.
Whether Patty was greeting her family and friends for Christmas or welcoming an entire football team for game day dinner, her loving hands prepared meals that nourished the body and souls of all who were blessed to be at her table. Patty’s legendary apple pies were a highlight of every family gathering, eagerly anticipated by all. Her pies were more than just a delicious treat; they were a symbol of her love and care, bringing comfort and happiness to everyone who had the pleasure of tasting them.
Preceding her in death and waiting for her at the gates of heaven is her angelic daughter, Darla, along with her beloved siblings and best friends, Audrey, Marlene, and Donnie. We take solace in knowing that Patty is now in the loving arms of Jesus, reunited with her family in eternal peace.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 12th, from 4-7pm at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler. Services to follow at 7:00 pm, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Also, a celebration of life to honor Patty will be held at a later date.
Patty’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will continue to inspire us. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Patty’s honor to Make-a-Wish.
