He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and went on to teach the Butler County Community College from 1967- 2009. He was a Professor of Geography, Sociology, and Social Problems and was beloved by his many students. He was an avid supporter of BC3 athletics and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017.
Walter’s two greatest passions in life were baseball and Classic Coca Cola. He was a devoted fan of Pitt Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He would also read to the children at Creative Playcare.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, a son, Justin, daughter, Shannon Gaiser, son-in-law, Chris Gaiser, and two grandchildren; Emma and Zayden Gaiser.

If everyone could wear their favorite Pittsburgh or Butler Athletic wear to send him off to a Heaven full of baseball and Coca Cola, it would be appreciated.
