Punxsutawney Phil Says Six More Weeks of Winter

Our news exchange partners at WPXI report that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, according to his handlers, predicting 6 more weeks of wintry weather. A massive crowd was on hand to hear the woodchuck’s weather forecast, an annual ritual with roots in European agricultural life that has boomed in public interest since Bill Murray’s 1993 movie, “Groundhog Day.”  An announcer read from a scroll during the celebration, “It’s Groundhog Day and maybe life is on the loop, but I miss my burrow I miss my coop. So I’m headed back down, there’s a shadow up here — get ready for six more weeks of winter this year!”
