Chase Elliott wins the “Clash” Cup Series season opener

Chase Elliott held off Ryan Blaney to win the season-opening Cup Series event known as “The Clash” Sunday night. The race was staged on a 1/4-mile short track at Bowman-Gray Stadium in North Carolina. The exhibition race was the first Cup Series event there since 1971. The Cup Series official kick-off is the Daytona 500 February 16th.
