Yvonne A. DeBacco, 84, of Chicora, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
She was born on October 5, 1940, in Bruin, Pennsylvania. A graduate of nursing school and registered nurse for more than thirty years, she dedicated her life to helping others in the Butler County community in her decades at the Chicora Medical Center.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, who gave every bit of herself to those she loved. She enjoyed cooking spaghetti dinners with her husband for the whole family, quilting, listening to the Bee Gees, and gardening at her beautiful Chicora home, which she hoped would one day be on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. Although she never achieved that goal, her home and gardens and kitchen were a place of love that a host of family and friends cherished. Her grandchildren will always remember the hours spent practicing with her at the piano, laughing around the fireplace, and enjoying a nice tic-tac or two from her purse during a long Catholic mass.
She has finally reunited with her beloved husband Dominic DeBacco Sr., who passed in May 2023. She will be forever remembered by her son, Dominic Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Stacy; her three grandchildren and their spouses, Zachary and Jacqueline DeBacco, Brittany and Colin Cochran, and Brielle and Tyson Miller, as well as her three great-granddaughters, Kinsley, Florenzia, Addilyn.
The sound of her saying “NICK!” will forever echo in her family’ s memory.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 915 SR 68, East Brady, with the Rev. Arnel Tadeo, church pastor, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund, 758 SR 268, East Brady, PA 16028. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
