Jury selection has begun in the trial of a Pittsburgh woman accused of murder in Butler County two years ago.
28-year-old Amanda Hughes is accused of killing her boyfriend 30-year-old Anthony Smith in February 2023 in Cranberry. Police say Hughes and Smith got into an argument, which led Hughes to shoot him.
Yesterday jury selection started and the beginning of the trial is set for Monday.
Hughes alleges that her Smith had attacked her and she was acting in self-defense.
