The Saxonburg Borough manager has agreed to a plea agreement with the district attorney’s office over the killing of a dog.
Police filed charges against 44-year-old Steven May in December for the shooting and killing of a neighbor’s dog then discarding of the dog in a dumpster.
May alleges that he thought the dog was a coyote on his property.
In the plea agreement May lost his hunting privileges for life, will pay a $100 fine to the game commission, and $1,200 in restitution.
The aggravated cruelty to animals, criminal mischief, and tampering with physical evidence charges were withdrawn but May pled guilty to damaging personal property.
