The Pennsylvania Senate has confirmed Governor Josh Shapiro’s nominee to lead the National Guard, serve as Adjutant General, and head the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
Brigadier General John Pippy, who graduated from the United States Military Academy in West Point in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, was tapped to leader the departments.
Pippy was deployed to the Middle East in 2003. In 2004 he transferred to the Pennsylvania National Guard where he worked in various roles.
Before being nominated by the Governor, Gibby previously served as the Director, Joint Staff, Joint Force Headquarters, Pennsylvania National Guard.
