Local young people interested in learning more about childcare are invited to attend a class this weekend.
Butler County Parks and Recreation will be offering a Safe Sitter class for kids ages 11 to 15 who want to learn about how to keep younger children safe through hands-on activities, video segments, and role-play scenarios.
This program will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Park. Participants will receive a backpack, flashlight, band aid dispenser, and book. Those planning to attend are asked to bring lunch and drink as well as a doll or stuffed animal.
The cost to participate is $55 with pre-registration required through the Butler County Parks and Recreation website.
