One woman was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after a fire this morning at an apartment in Oakland Township.
The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. at an apartment above the Readers’ Paradise store in the 200 block of Oneida Valley Road.
Neighbors say they heard a loud explosion and soon called 911.
An elderly woman who lives in the apartment was able to get out of the building, but suffered serious burn injuries and was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.
The Readers’ Paradise store on the first floor was also damaged in the fire, with owners telling our news partners at WPXI that a “significant amount of inventory” was impacted by the fire.
The exact cause of the fire is not known.
