Stefano “Steve” Campisi, 88, of Butler passed away in the loving arms of his wife on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. He was born in Besco, PA on September 7, 1936, to the late Joseph and Alice (Capoferro) Campisi. Steve attended Beaver Falls High School and graduated from Geneva College with a degree in architecture; he then became a general contractor, where he and his wife formed a company called Campisi Construction & Interiors, which took them all over the U.S. before returning to Butler. Along with his remodeling work, Steve was also an accredited stonemason where he loved to build fireplaces. Steve honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, which he renovated for 3.5 years. His greatest passion was playing golf; he was a member of Highland & Stoughton Golf Leagues and the American Legion. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and having holiday dinners and cookouts, and loved his wife’s pies and sweets. Steve was the beloved husband of Carol (Hertel) Campisi for over 6 decades; father of Shelly (Tom) Holley, Marsha (Jim) Stuhm, Mark and Laura Campisi; grandfather of Roxanna (Matt) DeLess, Heather and Arron Groomes, and Brett Campisi; great grandfather of Abigail Mottern, Ayden Glasser, Ethan and Ty DeLess; great great grandfather of Bentley and Holden Mottern, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph and Louis Campisi, and his granddaughter, Angelina (Campisi) Glasser. All arrangements were made through SPENCER D.
