Local residents are being asked to join in an effort to save lives.
The first of several local Vitalant blood drives is planned for Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Zion Methodist Community Church in Sarver.
Another Vitalant drive will take place Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at American Legion #852 in Harrisville.
In honor of National Volunteer Month, Vitalant is offering all donors who give blood and opt into their Donor Rewards Program at a drive this month a chance to win one of two $10,000 prepaid gift cards.
