The trial date for a man who allegedly hit and killed a 15-year-old from Butler has been officially set.
39-year-old Joshua Rivera of Butler will go to trial in early June for the death of 15-year-old Aiden Lutz.
It’s alleged that Rivera hit Lutz with his vehicle in October 2023 in Butler Township on Dutchtown Road and drove away. Lutz died from his injuries in the crash.
The jury is expected to be selected on June 5 and the trial is set to begin later that day.
Rivera is facing several charges including murder of the third degree, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault with a vehicle.
He’s being held in the Butler County Prison on $500,000 bail.
