Many county residents will begin cleaning up following strong storms that rolled into Butler last night.
The strong storms included damaging winds that took down trees and wires all over. The Butler County 911 Center handled over 200 calls starting around 5 p.m. through the overnight.
The calls included trees that went through houses, knocked down live wires onto the road, and fires as a result of transformer issues.
As of 10 a.m. there are just under 5,000 First Energy customers without power in Butler County.
Central Electric Cooperative meanwhile has made significant progress and now has less than 100 outages. At the height of the outages, there were more than 3,000 customers without power, which officials say was mainly due to an outage at the Clearfield substation.
