A new law aims to give those working in the public sector the same protections for those in the private sector.
Private sector employees are protected by OSHA but those in the public sector do not receives those protections. A new proposal, H.B. 308, would extended OSHA protections to public sector workers.
These protections ensure that all workers have protections in place to work in a place that is “free from unnecessary health and safety hazards.”
The bill passed in the house by a vote of 111 to 92 and will now head to senate committees before a senate vote.
