Another effort is underway in the Pennsylvania State House to legalize recreational marijuana.
The Cannabis Health and Safety Act was introduced by two Democratic lawmakers who say this legislation is a way to legalize cannabis that is “safe, equitable, and beneficial” to everyone.
The bill would legalize marijuana for adults, and also clear criminal records for those impacted by cannabis-related offenses. Additionally, it would implement protections like THC limits and child safety measures.
This bill has cleared the Health Committee by a 14 to 12 party line vote and next moves on to consideration by the full state House of Representatives.
