The Pittsburgh Pirates lost their sixth straight game last night following a 2-1 defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals. Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes allowed both runs in the sixth inning, and took the loss. His record fell to 3-4 this season, despite a 2.77 ERA. Both teams managed just four hits in the game.

The Pirates are now 0-5 in the month of May, and have been outscored 25-9. They are off Thursday, and host the Atlanta Braves for a short three-game home stand this weekend.
