Robert E. “Lum” Lumley Sr., 90, of Petrolia, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, May 24, 2025 while in the presence of his loving family at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born in Butler on June 22, 1934. He was the son of the late Earl and Hazel Emmett Lumley.
He attended school in Butler and retired from Castle Rubber following 43 years of dedicated service. He attended the Karns City United Methodist Church. Bob was a well-known and skilled beagler, participating in field trials for many years as a member of the Hilltop Beagle Club and Buffalo Valley Beagle Club. In his later years, Bob enjoyed watching TV, visiting with family and friends, and attending the Monday night dances at the Scott Twp. Firehall with Beverly.
Surviving are three children, Robert E. “Bob” Lumley Jr. of Karns City, Michelle R. McFadden and her husband, Timothy, of Hilliards, and a stepson, William “Bill” Kusick and his wife, Elaine, of Chicora; a step daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Kusick of Karns City; eight grandchildren, Joe, Karissa, Jenae, Tyler, Rob, Jim, Katie, and Ryan, a number of great grandchildren, his longtime companion and friend, Beverly Behm, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends, and his long time neighbors and caregivers, Rob and Kelly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Claudette Michael Kusick Lumley, a daughter, Pam McKay, a grandson, Hunter Lumley, his siblings, Harry, Frank, Melvin, Norma Jean, Ronald, Paul, Darl, and Joanne, and a stepson, Thomas Kusick.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday from the funeral home with the Rev. Beverly Roscoe, pastor of the Karns City United Methodist Church, officiating.
