A bill aimed to increase transit funding across the commonwealth has passed through the state house but looks doomed in senate committees.
After passing 107-96 the “Governor’s Plan to Fund Transit in All 67 Counties”, House Bill 1364, looks doomed in the senate transportation committee.
The transit funding bill provides nearly $300 million to be split among all 67 counties and provide $500 million to repair roads and bridges.
The bill also directs the Governor of Pennsylvania to form a Transportation Funding Advisory Commission to produce a comprehensive funding plan.
Current projections have Butler Transit receiving over $400,000.
The Transportation Committee consists of nine Republicans and five democrats, the vote in the house was split along party lines.
