Slippery Rock University led all institutions in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference with five Team GPA Awards and SRU student-athletes recorded the highest overall cumulative GPA in the conference in 2024-25 according to an announcement from the PSAC league office last Thursday. SRU had a school record 297 student-athletes, 62 percent of its total number of athletes, recognized earlier this week as PSAC Scholar-Athletes for owning a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
The Rock also swept the PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards with track & field and cross country runner Anna Igims earning the women’s honor and football quarterback Brayden Long earning the men’s honor, which marked just the third time in the 35-year history of the award that one school swept both awards.
