The Pennsylvania Department of Health is alerting parents about kids bikes with excessive lead levels.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently issued a recall for SPPTTY or “New Sport Bike” children’s bicycles after lead levels were found that exceed federal safety standards.
About 200 14- and 18-inch pink bikes with brown seat covers, brown handlebars, brown pedals and brown baskets were sold online through Walmart.com from August to December of 2024 for about $85. Anyone who purchased this product should immediately stop using it and contact Shenzhen Yihuachaung Technology for a full refund.
Those who would like more information on lead poisoning prevention or testing can call the toll-free lead hotline 1-800-440-LEAD or visit the Department of Health website.
