A stretch of New Castle Street in Slippery Rock will be closed for most of the day.
Dispatchers say a truck carrying an oversized load sheared a utility pole and knocked down wires onto the road just after 6 a.m.
No one was injured, but crews say the road is not passable.
New Castle Street (Route 108) is closed in between Main Street and the I-79 interchange.
