James L. Burgess

James L. Burgess, 90, of Butler passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025. He was born in Washington, PA on January 16, 1935. James honorably served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a truck driver for 10 years. He was known for being a jokester and a family man, who loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his free time, James enjoyed hunting and fishing. James was the beloved husband of the late Karen Burgess; father of Bessie and Hollie Smith, Janice (Skippy) Kreider and Charles Burgess Sr.; brother of Bob Burgess and Kathleen King; grandfather of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his daughter, Billie Jo Burgess. All services were held privately through SPENCER D.
