Gas prices have dropped a bit both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, decreased to $3.50 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by eight cents to $3.46. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.07, while the most expensive is in Beaver at $3.61.
The average national gas price decreased by a penny over the past week to sit at $3.17. This is two cents more than a month ago but three cents less than one year ago. Although demand for gas has decreased, the price of crude oil has increased over the past week.
