Those looking to learn more about saving a life are invited to stop by the Cranberry YMCA for a series of classes later today.
The Rose E. Schneider YMCA will host a lifeguard training course for ages 15 and older from 6 to 9 p.m. that continues Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Upon successful completion, participants will be certified in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR/AED for a professional rescuer.
A pre-swim test will be held on the first night. The cost is $300 or $75 for recertification with a discount available for those who pass and agree to work for the Cranberry YMCA. Visit the YMCA website to register or learn more about these classes.
Also, the Butler YMCA is holding an Aquatics Hiring Event from 2 to 6 p.m. today as lifeguards and swim instructors are needed with discounts available toward the cost of certification and free Y membership for all Y employees.
