As the federal government shutdown continues one state agency is alerting residents to be proactive with their utility companies as it’s unknown when federal aid may arrive.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission are telling residents who may traditionally receive LIHEAP funding to contact utility companies sooner than later if you can not make a payment.
The PUC has negotiated to begin the LIHEAP-eligible households winter moratorium for service terminations on November 1. Helping prevent service termination for non-payment but only to LIHEAP-eligible homes.
