State leaders are urging residents to be aware of fraud and other deceptive business practices during International Fraud Awareness Week.
The annual campaign tries to raise awareness of the numerous types of fraud and scams that are circulating. Officials say some scammers are trying to use health insurance fraud as a way to get your personal information.
You should be cautious of unexpected calls, watch for scam artists who say they are from Medicare, and never feel rushed.
Anyone who feels they’ve been targeted by a potential scammer, you can contact the Attorney General’s office at pa.gov/consumer.
