Governor Josh Shapiro has joined another multistate lawsuit challenging proposed federal funding cuts.
The lawsuit filed by Pennsylvania and 19 other states along with the District of Columbia seeks to block the Trump administration’s decision to overhaul the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development or HUD’s Continuum of Care program.
This program supports individuals and families experiencing homelessness with Pennsylvania receiving $177 million through this program last year. Removing this funding would impact thousands of existing housing programs as well as force nonprofit organizations and municipalities into harmful actions.
Last month Governor Shapiro filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration over the suspension of SNAP benefits.
