The Pennsylvania Game Commission is welcoming hunters back to the woods to participate in another opening Saturday for firearms deer season.
Hunters with a valid general hunting license can harvest an antlered deer while hunters with a valid antlerless deer license or Agricultural Deer Control permits can harvest an antlerless deer.
Last year nearly 477,000 white tailed deer were harvested including over 175,000 bucks. Many hunters take advantage of the Hunters Sharing the Harvest program to donate deer at no cost for distribution to regional food banks.
A list of regulations is available through the Game Commission website. The statewide general firearms deer season runs through December 13th including two Sundays.
